LLE was incorporated by a consortium of Chinese processors and forest management units interested in the production and trading of certified wood products. Its mission is to create a viable new business model that contributes to forest conservation and community development. Its major products include FSC-certified solid wood furniture and home improvement materials destined for the European and North American markets. In addition, LLE supplies non-certified wood products that are proven environmentally sound, as well as technical services related to FSC certification.Headquartered in the Zhongguancun Industrial Park in Beijing, LLE maintains a trading office in Vancouver, Canada, and is establishing a sales agent in Europe. LLE mainly supplies certified wood products from its consortium members located in the manufacturing bases in Northeastern China, and in Shandong, Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces. The certified timber needed is to be sourced from overseas or produced from LLE's production bases in Southern and Northeastern China.The management of LLE is dedicated to conservation and innovation. Its founder, Dr. Changjin Sun, was educated at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and worked for the Chinese Ministry of Forestry and World Wide Fund for Nature China Program. In collaboration with the Chinese Research Center of Ecological and Environmental Economics (RCEEE), LLE has done much pioneering work in promoting independent forest certification and the growth of certified wood markets in China. LLE's green business model makes it eligible for preferential tax treatment and low cost credit from the Chinese government. All these have prepared a solid foundation for LLE's business model and future growth.
